Axel Ljunghammer·Nosa Plugs
Nosa Plugs AB (”Nosa Plugs” or ”the Company”) published its interim report for the second quarter of 2026 on August 21, 2026. The following are some points we have chosen to highlight in connection with the report:
- Net sales growth of 81%, driven by the acquisition as well as organic growth
- Continued accelerating B2B growth, amounting to 26% during the quarter
- Continued high pace of Nozoil launches on new markets
- Gross margin strengthened to 64.5%, the second consecutive quarter of sequential improvement
- Cost base affected by one off costs, with strong underlying cost control
Net Sales Growth Amounted to 81%, Driven by Both Organic Growth and the Acquisition
In Q2-26, net sales amounted to SEK 8.8m (4.9), corresponding to a growth rate of 81%, driven by both organic growth and the acquisition of Nozoil. The outcome was approximately 24% below our estimate of SEK 11.6m, where seasonal patterns relating to the acquired Nozoil constitute an uncertainty factor given fluctuating revenue between quarters. B2B sales, which do not include Nozoil, grew by 26% during the quarter, which is assumed to be entirely organic and more in line with our estimate of approximately 30% growth. Below is a summary

The development within B2B was driven by a continued recovery in the Nordics, stable development in Germany and a strong launch in Norway, where CEO Adrian Liljefors stated in our quarterly interview that 95% of all hospitals purchase Odor Control with growing volumes. Sales of SEK 5m (3.9), corresponding to growth of 26%, should be viewed in light of Q2-25 constituting a tough comparison quarter, when growth amounted to 54%, driven by strong sales in Germany. During H2-26, the comparison figures within B2B become easier, as sales during Q3-25 slowed significantly as a result of orders postponed to Q4 as well as the cost savings implemented earlier that year, which entailed reduced sales and marketing activities in the Nordics. Given this, we expect growth to be able to accelerate further during H2-26.
B2C sales amounted to SEK 3.9m (0.9), corresponding to growth of 311%, primarily driven by the acquisition of Nozoil. Nosa Plugs has maintained a continued high pace regarding launches of Nozoil and the consumer portfolio overall on new markets, among other things through the agreement with Phoenix OCP SAS in France, which was announced in April 2026 and comprises the entire consumer portfolio with distribution to over 70% of the country’s approximately 20,000 pharmacies, as well as through the launch in Norway together with Norsk Medisinaldepot, where the launch towards Vitus apotek and Ditt apotek was brought forward to June 1 as a result of early demand signals from the chains. In June, the Company additionally entered into a partnership with OTC Health & Beauty regarding Nozoil and Odor Control in the Netherlands and Belgium, with an initial order of approximately SEK 1.4m and a launch across all of Kruidvat’s approximately 1,300 stores in the region planned for September 2026.
At the same time, we assess that the deviation in sales compared to our estimate is attributable to lower B2C sales than estimated, where sales of Nozoil during the summer months have been lower than we anticipated. Nosa Plugs states that the Company has a strong order book ahead of the winter season, which is expected to strengthen organic growth further during H2-26.
Stable Gross Margin in Line With Expectations
The gross margin during Q2-26 amounted to 64.5% (71.4%), strengthening compared to the previous quarter from 63% as well as compared to Q4-25, when the gross margin amounted to 57.7%. The outcome was in line with our estimate of 65.1%, where the lower gross margin compared to the previous year is attributable to the acquisition of Nozoil. The gross margin for products other than Nozoil is in line with the previous year. The improvement compared to the previous quarter is explained by product mix, where B2B, carrying a higher gross margin, accounted for a larger share of sales during the quarter, as well as by Nosa Plugs having sold off further parts of the inventory the Company purchased from Pharmacure prior to the acquisition, which is sold at a lower gross margin. Analyst Group expects the gross margin to remain at approximately the same level as during H1-26 for the remainder of the year, albeit somewhat strengthened during the year, and to strengthen further later in the forecast period through economies of scale and optimization of Nozoil production.
Operating Profit Was Affected by One Off Costs
Operating expenses, excluding depreciation and amortization, amounted to approximately SEK 6m (4.7), compared to our estimate of SEK 5.9m. The cost base did, however, include costs of a one-off nature of approximately SEK 0.9m related to the technical file for Nozoil, meaning that the underlying cost base was lower than our expectations. In our interview with CEO Adrian Liljefors, it was stated that 90% of the costs for the technical file have been taken, meaning that further significant costs relating to this are not expected. EBITDA amounted to SEK -0.3m but adjusted for the one off costs the outcome was SEK 0.6m, which can be compared to our estimate of SEK 1.7m. The discrepancy compared to our estimate was attributable to the lower-than-expected sales.
The most important factor for strengthening profitability during the remaining quarters of 2026 is assessed to be continued strong revenue growth during the year, which through an expected relatively fixed cost base is expected to generate margin expansion during the year, even if certain sales and marketing costs are expected to grow in pace with sales, albeit not at the same rate.
Cash flow from operating activities amounted to SEK -0.2m and free cash flow amounted to SEK -0.4m, which is closely in line with EBITDA. Cash amounted to SEK 16.1m at the end of the quarter and given that we estimate a positive result and cash flow for the full year 2026, we view the cash position as stable, also taking into account payment of the remaining additional purchase consideration to Pharmacure of approximately SEK 13.1m, which is to be paid on four separate occasions from September 2026 to December 2027.
Continued Progress Within Cerevia, but Still no Formalized Partnership
During the quarter, Nosa Plugs has taken further steps within the technology platform Cerevia. Together with external experts, the Company has developed a proprietary pharmaceutical database, a so-called Drug Screener, where approximately 3,000 of the approximately 11,000 drugs included are assessed to be potentially compatible with the technology. In addition, the subsidiary NoseOption AB was granted a development grant from Vinnova for further development of the platform. As of the report date, two serious dialogues are being held with pharmaceutical companies, beyond which further interested parties exist where concrete processes have not yet been initiated, while an earlier dialogue has been paused as a result of organizational changes at the counterparty. Analyst Group views the Drug Screener as a tool which broadens the number of possible applications and thereby the number of potential partners, while the paused dialogue illustrates that these processes depend on factors outside the Company’s control, meaning that the timeline until a potential agreement is difficult to assess.
In summary, Analyst Group assesses that Nosa Plugs has delivered a quarter in which the underlying development remains good, even though sales came in below our estimates. The B2B segment continues to accelerate against a tough comparison quarter, the gross margin strengthened for the second consecutive quarter and the underlying cost base was lower than we anticipated, which taken together shows that the operating leverage in the business is gradually materializing as revenue grows. The deviation against our estimate is primarily attributable to weaker sales of Nozoil during the summer months, which we assess to be of a seasonal nature rather than an expression of weakened underlying demand, given the high pace of launches on new markets during the quarter. With easier comparison figures within B2B, a communicated strong order book as well as the launch with Kruidvat in Benelux during September, we expect growth to be able to accelerate during H2-26, which constitutes the single most important factor for reaching both the Company’s financial targets and a positive EBITDA for the full year. At the same time, uncertainty remains regarding the pace at which the new distribution agreements translate into actual sales to end customers, meaning that we view H2-26 as decisive in confirming the growth trajectory underlying our forecasts.
Analyst Group will return with an updated equity research report on Nosa Plugs.
Analyst Group kommenterar Nosa Plugs Q2-rapport

Fortsatta framsteg inom Cerevia, men ännu inget formaliserat partnerskap
