Circio Holding ASA (”Circio” or ”the Company”) announced, on the 6th of August 2026, that it has been selected for an oral presentation at the European Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (ESGCT) annual meeting in Hamburg, 27–30 October 2026, covering circVec for next-generation T-cell therapies. Separately, the Nomination Committee proposed Dr. Dinah Sah as a new Board Director on the 4th of August, for election at an Extraordinary General Meeting on the 25th of August.
Analyst Group’s View on the ESGCT Selection
ESGCT is Europe’s leading gene and cell therapy conference and one of the most concentrated venues for pharmaceutical business development teams to source emerging platforms. For a company whose model rests entirely on out-licensing, that audience is the principal value of the meeting, and an oral slot secures a more prominent position within it than a poster. Circio had three abstracts accepted in total, one for oral and two for poster presentation, and with only a limited share of submissions selected for oral presentation, Analyst Group considers the selection a third-party endorsement of the underlying work from the ESGCT scientific committee.
The timing adds to this. The presentation coincides with a dense set of readouts expected during H2-26, spanning the in vivo CAR targeted T-cell delivery data, wet AMD and heart disease-model efficacy data, and CNS PoC data from the ongoing big pharma collaboration. Analyst Group assesses that this gives the cell therapy program exposure to a relevant partner audience while the data package expands across both the non-viral and AAV routes. Pharmaceutical interest in expression-enhancing RNA technologies is evident from recent transaction activity in the field. Although circVec’s cell therapy applications remain preclinical, and further data will be required before licensing discussions can advance, Analyst Group views the presentation as a step in the right direction toward stronger partner visibility.
The board nomination announced on the 4th of August speaks to the same commercial agenda. Dr. Sah’s career spans both of circVec’s routes to market: she was a founding team member and Chief Scientific Officer at Voyager Therapeutics, a US AAV gene therapy company, and previously Vice President of Research at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, where she led the transthyretin siRNA program that became the first approved systemic RNAi therapy. Analyst Group assesses that her election would strengthen the Board with US gene and RNA therapy experience and an associated partner network.
In summary, Analyst Group views the ESGCT selection as providing Circio with visibility among prospective partners at a relevant point in its development, and the proposed board addition as an endorsement of the technology from an experienced gene and RNA therapy specialist. The H2-26 readouts, spanning in vivo CAR targeted T-cell delivery, wet AMD and heart disease-model efficacy and CNS PoC data, remain the most significant near-term events, and positive outcomes would represent progress in the direction of a first licensing agreement.
About ESGCT
The European Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (ESGCT) is the principal professional organization for gene and cell therapy in Europe. Its annual meeting is the largest conference in the field in Europe and the second largest globally, attended by academic researchers, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, patient advocacy organizations and life science media, and only a limited share of submitted abstracts are selected for oral presentation.
